Advocacy
Our goals at IBDLiving.com are to create public awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and
create a better way of living from those affected by Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
We are involved in the advocacy efforts through the CCFA. We are hopeful that the Inflammatory
Bowel Disease Research Bill will be passed and will help us move forward in creating better options
for all of us. Please visit this page at the CCFA site to find out how to email your legislators so that
you too can help get this law passed. It benefits all of us.
The “Restroom Access Act” will require all retail and public establishments to allow IBD sufferers to
use their restroom's. There have been numerous stories about people with IBD having accidents in
public areas because people won’t allow them to use their restroom. That, to us, is the most horrific
and embarrassing occurrence that anyone could go through and it could be and should be
prevented. This legislation has been passed in a couple of states and we are joining the campaign
for it to be passed at a national level, where every state accommodates IBD sufferers. We will
update this page with the progress and will keep you informed along the way. To view a copy of the
Illinois Act, also known as Ally's Law, please click here.
